Nothing under $100,000 (except a Viper) can hold a candle to the Z06 on a road course.... that and I can't afford a Saleen S7.

I have been dreaming about owning a Vette ever since I was old enough to put together the plastic model cars, which was about 10 years of age. I am 53 now and just bought my first Vette, a 2001. I can honestly tell you that the wait of 43 years was well worth it.

I agree, except I wanted mine since I was 12!

Notice how many said around age 12? It was the other discovery I made at age 12 that cost me so much money and made me wait to get the Corvette!!!

If you have to ask that question, you've never driven one. I've been hooked on Vettes since I was 6 years old. But I test drove a C5 because I had some spare time at lunch. I had to have one from that moment. It's a dream car for me, great bang for the buck, easy to work on, impressive performance bone stock, low maintenance( well it used to be), Sweet looking lines, Fast as hell and it's an addiction.

I've never spent an entire afternoon washing, waxing, vacuuming, cleaning parts of the underside, cleaning the insides of the wheels, and waxing the wheels of any car other than my '02 Corvette. I just finished doing all the above and WOW, does it look great.

That Corvette magic is totally responsible for this behavior. I did wash my wife's Regal GS today as well, but dont' think I'll be doing all the rest of it like I did my car. I quick Armorall of her tires and she thinks it's totally fine the time I spent on it.

Why a C5? As several have already stated, I've always wanted a Corvette since I was 12 and saw the '63 Stingray. A lifetime dream finally fulfilled...

Just sold my 98 coupe and bought an 01 Z06. Why? Fairly affordable. Looks sexy as hell. Very fast even in stock form. Handles great. Good reliability. Comfy enough for daily usage. Oh,did I mention I love the looks and styling? Nothing comes close even at 2-3 times the price!

Don't ya agree?

Default Why Not?

I bought mine 2 months ago.
I wanted a sports car but not a Corvette.
My son was driving me crazy about one, so just to make him happy I tested one.
THANKS SON!!!!!!!!

There are a lot of good sport cars, but there is only one great american sports car. Best bang for the buck made with four wheels.

Because the Corvette is the epitomy of American muscle/sports cars...an American icon, and a legend of the American Auto industry I have alway's liked Corvettes since I first was young enough to somewhat realize what a real car was suppose to be . Then when the C5 came into production I was hooked and never satisfied until i got one and now I realize what I was missing all along!! I have driven several types of cars while stationed in Europe and none compare to the Corvette in my book, but to each his/her own...different strokes for different folks!

this is actually my 2nd. i owned a 94 when i was 16 (paid for it myself). ive always been GM loyal. i had a highly modded 97 camaro z28. i went to the store on 12-17-04 to get a drink, and i saw a beautiful white c5 across the street at the dealership. the next thing i know, im driving it home. the insurance is actually cheaper than my older camaro (thanks to you old *** vette owners ).
