Default Questions on COT Sensor and EGR setting in LS1-Edit

I understand if the COT's (CAT overtemp) is set to true...The PCM will dump more fuel in at WOT to keep the temps down..But this kills HP...

I hear you don't want to turn this off if you are running CATS because it can damage them... SO it seems that there is a hidden benefit to gutting cats..even if removing the restriction does not buy HP, killing the COT will!

Now on to the EGR...What is the benefit of turning this off?
