Not knocking anyones business, but I have built several headers for my turbo charged off road cars. I know we are paying heavily for the design, not the materials. I can get off the shelf mandral bent tubing, collectors, and flanges for pretty cheap. The welding is nothing.

Design, fit, and the many times they have to re-do to improve/make fit is what adds up. Making the jig to reproduce them....

This is why I'm not attacking their prices, just looking to see how everyone is justifying it in their minds, and to their wives....

Realistically, did you go in knowing you were paying almost $60 per hp?

Having a hard time grasping the expense for very little hp.

Even with this said, I will most likely be making the plunge, just looking for some support I guess...

Mike, I hear you talkin! Money sure doesn`t grow on trees... the justification I make to my other half is, at least it keeps me out of trouble! Not hanging out in bars etc.... the fact that she gets a kick everytime she drives it helps! Wasn`t tryin to negate your point.

Cheers, Rick (R.P.)

The Vette is my main distraction from the craziness at work so she is pretty understanding. Once in a while I get her something too which helps I guess the other thing is I thoroughly enjoyed putting the headers on the car, it was a real good diversion after work for the week or so I did it. Hour or two each night and just took my time and enjoyed it. Great therapy.

I did the QTP's in December, and the before and after dyno sheets are in my sig.

Fit was pretty good, but the performance change is dramatic. Sound, throttle response are outstanding. I didn't really think about the $/hp...I just wanted my toy to sound and perform like I wanted.

I took a ride last Saturday, and it was so much fun to charge up the entrance ramps here in Connecticut. I got a little sideways a few times, but I put that down to the sand on the road. Anyway, I am a happy customer.

Congrates to Chris Gray. Just went 11.6 with his Z06. Only mods are our headers and a intake!
