Default Dyno tuning with Halltech Stinger

Took my 02, Z to the dyno last night. We make five pulls. The best RWHP was 358. I had just installed Halltech Stinger intake and tuned the computer. I really though I would get a little more HP to the wheels. The engine temp. would run 225 degrees F, the oil pressure would go to 70 psi. Is this normal? We took the RPM to 62-65K.

I'd say that temperature would be fine for an engine turning 62,000 to 65,000 rpm's :-)

Seriously....That does seem high for no more pulls than that.

It's been my experience that the RPM in a Z is directly realted to the temp, when I'm really putting my Z through it's paces the temp shoots up in no time. 230 or 240 is nothing on an autocross track.

I'm guessing that your baseline is 350-353 and a gain of only 5 RWHP is certainly low if that is the case. Perhaps it's time for a second opinion/tuning tweaks?

We took the RPM to 62-65K.

I'm sure the Formula I boys would love to have a lookie see at this engine, best they can do is around 20K RPM

However, for whats its worth, I agree with the fellow above, your temp seems a bit high for some reason.

I have a Halltech too on an otherwise stock LS1, and won't bother to Dyno tune until I get headers and hi-flow cats, etc..... Let us know more about this as you address the Temp isssues, I want to learn what you learn.
