New headlights soon...
Objectives are:
conform to the natural curvey lines of the C5 and enhacne those features with this kit.
Maybe with or without a clear lens
Utilize stock attachment points
4 round modules
Clear lens equipped units may have option for body colored shrouds (ie C6 blacked out vs monochromatic).
Utilize the exact dimensions of the headlight cover as the overall size of the fixed unit.
Integrate it better with the body itself
No exposed screws.
Hope that helps.
Just a thought.
Absolutely. But, I am not going to commit myself just yet. My goal is to be sub $600 for exposed/popup halogen and probably $1200 for HID exposed/popup.
I am confident you will be pleased.

These are entirely new housings designed to be used with HID lighting, unlike POS kits installed in the factory housings.
The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
In the mean time can anyone recommend some brighter bulbs?Yeah, you're right...I should probably stop posting until they are all built and finished.

The second will be a fixed kit using the same options/specs as above. I have seen and heard about a few other fixed kits and believe we can do better and provide a better value.
Count me in for these!!
There are two types of retrofits:
1) Rebased HID bulbs that are designed to plug into an existing headlamp that was originally designed for a halogen bulb.
2) The installation of a projector assembly originally designed as a sealed unit (projector within a bmw, VW, etc) within a headlamp into another sealed headlamp. The latter is typically a hand built, one by one project which is not a quality, mass produceable product.
A conversion is the entire replacement of the lamp assembly (which includes the lens, reflector, optics, bracket, etc...) with one that is a complete unit, including the bulbs, and is a matched system designed to deliver compliant, but improved lighting. There are very few conversions of quality design.
Make no mistake, I am not intending to offer a retrofit. It is very illegal from a manufacturing point of view. The kits I will offer will be a conversion and include all the peices necessary to install right into your vette.
SS930, new lenses, brackets, projectors, housings, wiring and HID's for under $600---nope..not from me. Halogens, maybe....and that would be an improvement over stock.
From the sounds of these, there might be some C5R's for sale when these come out, because these sound Nice! Might be time for a change!
Please keep us posted Mike!

The reflectors/headlights are cheap at $38 a piece for a nice Hella (half price of a T84) and it has an extremely nice E-code pattern with the ability of using H4 bulbs with ungodly power ratings.

California Code of Regulations > Title 13. Motor Vehicles > Division 2. Department of the California Highway Patrol > Chapter 2. Lighting Equipment > Article 2. Identification Markings
Section 630. Permanent Markings.
Each lens and housing shall be permanently and legibly marked with the manufacturer's or vendor's name, initials or lettered trademark, the model designation, and other specified markings. Lens markings need not be the same as housing markings. Markings shall be imprinted on a permanently attached nameplate, die-stamped, or molded in the locations specified in this title. In lieu of other methods of marking, gaseous discharge bulbs, flashers, and the backs of sealed optical units may be marked with indelible ink.
Section 631. Size of Markings.
Required markings and at least one letter of a lettered trademark shall be not less than 3.0 mm (0.12 in.) in height. Raised molded markings not less than 2.0 mm (0.08 in.) in height may be used on lenses with an area of less than 13 cm2 (2 in.2) or on housings with a projected area less than 25 cm2 (4 in.2). Indelible ink markings not less than 2.0 mm (0.08 in.) in height may be used on bulbs with a base diameter of less than 10.0 mm (0.40 in.).
There are a few other sections that would be nice to follow, but the markings will be readily available for any cops to see. That's kind of important to me, especially since I may become a cop myself.

Yes and yes...these are identical to the Fed regs.
