My Raptor has been fine. The Harlan shift lights are very nice, but, you may end up waiting a little while when you order.

Raptor is well made, significantly smaller and easier to program. It can also be changed much faster. Harlan is good quality from what I've seen as well.
I designed a bracket for the Harlan for a buddy who had one based on my smaller Raptor bracket on the left.
Here's my Raptor in it's first mounting location, on the upper A-pillar.
And in the custom gauge pod bezel I made for it.

hook-up?
Just how involved is the electrical part of the installation? Using the shift light on the hud
can be suicidal.

Very easy to install. A hot, a ground and a tach signal wire is all you'll be connecting. Use Flyin'Brian's install instructions to tap into the wiring harness right at the driver's side dash area.

Setting the light involves just three dip switches (set to 4 cylinder for the LS1/6 dual coil pack setup) and two rotary switches to pick your rpm trigger. Plus, you can change the RPM setting anytime you like within about 10 seconds.
