Default Help an idiot out....radiator cover?

O.K...against my better judgement I and going to try to clean out my radiator, myself. I am tired of my car running at 3000 degrees all the time because that thing is clogged with bags, squirrels and dust. Here is my question...

WHAT TOOL DO I USE TO GET THOSE FOUR DAMNED SCREWS OFF? I am talking about the four that hold down the radiator cover. There is no room to move a wrench of any kind. What do you guys use? I can run to the store and buy it if I don't have it. Thanks.

The top plastic guide cover? Isn't it 2 10mm bolt heads on each side? Or was it 13mm? Damn, I can't remeber. Just try a socket with 6" extension.

I'm confused here. I got UNDER the front of the car to clean the squirrels out from in front of the radiator. No screws, nut, or bolts to take off down there. I don't think that you'll find debris under the top cover.

I posted a pic in C5 General, but if you want even more info, you'll find it in my Cold Air mod procedure, which can be found at:http://www.conceptualpolymer.com/corvette_c5_corner.htm

Thanks for the posts guys. I just bought the 6" extension and it will work; however, it looks like I need to take the air tube thing off. I don't want to mess with all of that unless someone who knows more than I do is around. I know it's not a huge thing to do...but I don't want to get myself into a mess.

Thanks again for your responses.

I used a shop vac to clean between radiator and a/c condensor. Once clean, I installed a wire mesh (1/2" X 1/2") screen to cover the opening...no more sparrows...yes, I had a no longer living sparrow in there!

You will be amazed at what you will find in between the AC condensor and the radiator!!! When we did ENGLANDGREEN's cam, his radiator looked like it was growing grass. He keeps his car and engine compartment SPOTLESS.

So,, it not what what you can see more than what you cant see. If you use a hose and flush out the condensor and radiator, you will see all kinds of sand and dirt that will wash out too.

As the leaves start to drop, you will see more and more post on cars running HOT!!! I check and clean mine when ever I wash the car.
