I just bought a Z06, and found it has a hurricane intake installed on it. I would like to get some opinions if its a good system or, are others out there better to justify switching to another system . Thanks for any and all opinions!
I have one on my ZO6 I love it!!! I had the Vararam on my 99 coupe it was fine but dirt got in my intake and it was pain in the a** tp install. The hurricane was clean easy to install and clean filter. It has the war head filter it seems to be somewhat like a halltech stinger set up. Fits well under the hood carbon fiber smooth and blends in. I did notice SOTP difference from stock.
There is no cutting, direct bolt up...I would say about 15hp gain I never believed the 30+. I can say its good as a vararam I've had one of those on my last vette.
I noticed that in the picture the stock air bridge was used. According to West coast Corvette, you have to replace the stock one with their hi-flow unit in order to use the hurricane. I'd buy the hurricane but the air bridge adds another $169.00 to the cost. Is the neck of the air filter on the hurricane a different size or can you use the stock set up?
Also, is there really no cutting involved? Does it come with a complete new shroud to replace the stock one so you don't have to cut anything? If so, that's great.

I just installed mine a few weeks ago. The hurricane comes with a new shroud that is already cut out. I used my stock airbridge. Here's a pic of the hurricane shroud.
