HELP! Hood latches :(
In hindsight, I could have re-inserted the cable without removing the screws, which are a bit of a hassle to put back for a 6' 2" 230 guy. It's kinda tight down there under the dash
. All you ya need to do is relieve the tension on the latch end of the cable and the cable will move freely. Easy to re-insert without tension on the cable... I used a screwdriver and lowered the hood against it, which relieved the tension on the cable

I ran into a different failure mode where the locking slot in the latch broke out. I was able to pull the cable and open the hood, and I have a new unit - and the emergency release cables - on order.
