My reverse lights come on when I unlock the car, but do not work when I put it in reverse. It is a Z06 car with a manual. Any suggestions where to start looking for the problem?
And if that doesn't fix it, sometimes the mini-fuse for this circuit blows as well, so after you replace the switch, check the fuse if they aren't working.

Installation Procedure
Notice
Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Install the backup lamp switch. Tighten
Tighten the backup lamp switch to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
Connect the backup lamp switch electrical connector.
Install the intermediate exhaust pipe. Refer to Intermediate Pipe Replacement in Engine Exhaust.
Did you manually check the switch operation and circuit? When the shifter goes in reverse, it pushes that ball on the switch in and completes the circuit. Unplug the switch and just jump the connector to make sure you have a complete circuit. If you do, there is a slight chance you didn't screw the switch in all the way. Don't go nuts though, overtightening can crack the case.
You should also unplug the the connector from the switch and jumper inside the connector with a small piece of wire. That will tell you that the circuit is good or not.
