Once my Goodyears are out of tread this will be my replacement tires. My friend has the Michelins and loves them. Nicer ride, much quieter than Goodyears.

I just got a set of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S ZP (runflats) for my 2000 Coupe.

The best source of information was the tirerack website.

Even the Michelin website had very little information.

I am getting ready to shod some Z06 rims, do they come in Z06 sizes?

might not hurt to go ahead replace them
I have original 8 year old tread on my vert. The car doesn't hook anywhere in first gear (auto w/ 3.15) and cornering is unpredictable as the car gives no signs it is losing grip - once it stops sticking, it feels instantly like being on black ice

No more spirited driving for me until the GS-D3's go on.

Be advised that one reason the Pilot Sport ZP tires are quieter is because you have less rubber on the road. I bought these tires for my 01 Coup and they are noticably quieter but the first time I drove the car in the garage after washing it I couldn't believe how narrow the contact patch is compared to the stock tires. These are great tires. Just passing on the observation.

Default zero pressure

go to the Pilot sport A/s tire page.

About 1/3rd of the way down the page you will see "view detailed sizes and specs for this tire." Click on it. It will take you to the spec pages. Look at page 2. Under the "service Sescription beside 245/45ZR17 and 275/40ZR18 you will see 95Y ZP and 99Y ZP respectivly.

I have been running the Michlin Pilot ZGT Z4's on my y2k for 3-years. Got 40K on them. Too bad they changed the tread design.

Default didnt have the tires long enough to know were new

what happened LOL Brought the michelins pilots --- Traded the
car on a 06 Mont Red Convertible, bet there wasnt 300 miles on
those tires. It was a spur of the moment decision, not planned.

They had one coming from the factory in two days just what wanted
so did the trade

Partly...
Their width has been my only knock on them. I think they probably out grip the GYs, but they are physically narrower as you point out, plus the rounded shoulder and tread pattern make them look narrower still. But they are a great tire. VERY quiet.

I think the softer sidewall contributes more to the quieter ride than the difference in width though. They may be 10% narrower, but they are 90% quieter (exagerating). Guess the width probably helps, but I blew one out right after putting them on and couldn't believe how soft the tire was without air. It looked half flat (or more) and drove like it.

I'm considering move up to the c6 size GYs on some nice wheels next, but it's more because I want wheels than dislike the Michelins.

How would you compare the performance of the ZPs to the C6 runflats? Is it a Z51??? They do have a softer tire than the base C6 tire, right?

Curious because I'm considering those for my next set.

It is a non Z51 -- The ride is noticable smoother than the C5. The
Michelins did help the C5 but the ride wasnt like the C6. The
steering feel is also better in the C6. I was expecting pretty
much the same car but GM did make some improvements.
Quieter too even being a Convert

Default No Run Craps For Me

I have an 04 Coupe and I have had a gut full of the lousey, dangerious and slipery EMT's. Someone is going to have to be one very slick fella wearing a red checkered jacket and white shoes (a Herb Tarlek type) before I buy another set.

I just purchased a set of chrome ZO6 wheels, a set of Firehawk Wide Ovals in ZO6 sizes and new tire pressure sensors. These will soon be on my car. Shame on Goodyear for sticking us with these crappy EMT's.

When I bought the new tires I thought about a small jack and a ZO6 tire repair kit. I think I found a better solution. Blowouts are unlikely so I need to be ready for nails and the like.

I found a tire sealing and inflating kit that uses a latex product that can be pealed away when the tire is broken down. It is also safe to use with tire pressure sensors. I found it at the tire rack and you can get info on it here.

No such thing as a quiet runflat.

Default Zp's working out great!

I've lived with the Michilen Zp's for about a year now and I'm very happy with my decision. Nice ride, great handling, and no worries.

I have 11500 miles on mine. Been to the track, done a few burn outs

The tires have no noticable tread wear. Still quiet. I'm still satisfied!

Oh,,,by the way,,,, by the time the stock EMT's had 15000 miles on them, the back tires were bald and they were so noisy I couldn't hear myself think!

Dont know if this helps but I bought the ZP's from a local Discount tire.

Out the door was $1310.53. I would have rather bought from a supporting vendor, but I had a sidewall puncture on my non-run flats and not much tread left so I couldn't wait for shipping. They had them in stock.

Great tire so far...

Well, let's see what all the buzz about these tires are......

I ordered a set of 4 ZP's today ($1100.00) and will have them mounted, next week, when I arrive in Florida. I'll be driving down and my bro's shop will do the mounting.

I also plan on having a full detail done on the car (good bye rock chips.... ) and when I get back home, it's off to the Vette Doctors.

(And to think I bought a Vette, because I thought it would be cheaper than a boat.... )
