What is the easiest stainless header sytem to install on my 2000 vette? I was considering LG but im not about to mess with the air system.
Lost me with the AIR system and LG headers. LG's are one of if not the easiest to install. What is the AIR concern you are talking about? Is it the replacement of the passenger side tube? I might be wrong, but that should be with most if not all headers.
If you don't plan on running cats, you can put block off plates on the headders. Just tune the air pump out of the system so you don't get a check engine light. Remove the pump and save 8lbs
Chainging the air tube isn't a big deal. I did the headders (w/o cats) with the air tube on my frc in 3hrs in my driveway with hand tools. The headders fit extreemly well

Ls1Howto has a write-up on this procedure. Took me a 2-3 hours to switch. You might also want to check out the new American Racing headers the Vette Drs are selling. They're made by some ex-Kooks guys who've improved on the Kooks design making them much easier to install. I just bought a set so I'll find out soon if they're easier or harder to install than the LGs. Quality looks to be very good.

The install is simple with American's Vette Doc Series but these are an all new design. Primary routing is different and lengths are about 5" longer, they use merge style collectors and X-pipe placement (perfect if you ask me) is ahead of cats.

Yeah, I like the x-pipe placement too. I used to have TPIS headers straight into a DrGas x-pipe(no cats) and that combo out performed the LGs I replaced it with. I'm hoping the American Racing headers will be better than both.
My .02 cents-- I've just finished installing a Dynamaxx system with Hi-Flo cats and X pipe in my 2000FRC that was my first ever header install- aside from taking me a combined 8 hours (kept having to get car jacked higher- 30 inches was the magic number) they went in perfect-- and look sharp- I ceramic coated mine- Swain Coatings in Scottsville NY- have only run set up in garage but no codes yet and the motor screams!!! Be careful not to crossthread header bolts-
PS. Got mine from Jason at Texas Speed and Performance- good guys fair price.
