Default C5 Posi Problem???

Hi All,
I have a 2001 car, 6 spd. manual with 20,000 miles. When I accelerate to 70-80 MPH in second and sometimes in third gear, the rear of the car will bolt or shift sharply to the right and then straighten out again. I have found that at times it will happen at a lesser speed as well. Sometimes the car seems to decellerate as well, but I back off the throttle when this happens. I have Z06 wheels on this car (17's front, 18's rear) and the rear tires are obviously taller than the fronts. I have changed the posi fluid. I have had the alignmnet checked,(found nothing). I have not taken to the dealer yet. Warranty expired. This is frustrating. The guy I bought the car from told me about the traction control button and how you could put the car in "competitive driving mode". by holding the button down. What is the "competitive driving mode'??? Trantion Control is in the correct mode during the problem I described above. Has anyone ran across this issue before? If so, PLEASE HELP!!!! I don't want to drive this car like a granny anymore.

Do a small burnout, just enough to see smoke. Check to see if both sides leave rubber on the ground.
If you watch the in car vid in my sig, you'll notice the same thing happening to me at the strip. The clutch packs were blown out in the rear.

Default clutch Packs

Hi, thanks for the reply, I thought about the clutch packs, but could packs go that quickly when the car had only 10,000 miles????
Thank you.

competitive driving mode allows you to spin the tires but it keeps Active Handling on to "HELP" keep the car straight! If you turn TC off, both AH and TC are disengaged and you better be a really good driver and be paying close attention or you will end up swapping directions.

Under full throttle? If yes I think thats normal. I have an automatic. Under full throttle my rear end will kick out to the right when shifting from 1st to 2nd gear (from wheelspin). My cluthpaks are fine.

Hi Mike, it does not flash anything. If my rear tires are only slighty larger than the fronts, (1/4 inch) can this cause this situation I have described?
I am use to Vettes from the 60's, so this new one I am still trying to figure out all the hi-tech stuff.
Would anything possibly need to be reset in the car?
Thanks for you help

I have the same issue with my C4.
It shifts weird in the rear. Wants to go right under hard acceleration, left if I let off the gas.
I’m not sure it’s the posi yet, but that’s what was suggested by someone who knows more about cars then I do.

I was told to jack the car up, and rotate one of the rear wheels and see what happens to the other rear wheel. Listen for some grinding or clicking, and see If the opposite wheel spins backwards, the posi is shot.

Will this work?

I have never noticed a problem due to 17's in front and 18's in the rear. And OBTW, ZO6's have 18's all the way around

That's not correct. Z06's (C5) are 17 front, 18 rear.
