I did a search but didn't get much info. Has anyone changed the gaskests on the getrag. Mine has started leaking on the right side. Any special tools needed besides a 10mm socket to remove the cover plate after shaft is removed.

You will need a 10 mm hex drive to remove the diff fluid bolt. I would also recommend using some silicone sealer on the cover. Just for some added resistance against any future leaks. I just did this to mine (2nd time around), hopefully this will fix the leak.

Did yours leak on the right side as well? I seen that most seem to leak on the left side. The seal itself is not leaking, but I bought a new one to change out at the sametime.
GM now recommends to replace the side cover O-rings and use RTV sealer on the cover flanges. I would replace the side axle seals while you in there. You should be able to do it all without dropping anything out from under the car. Hardest part will be removing the drive axle.
Nah, that's easy. Just follow these directions. I think you can get to the side cover without dropping the x-member, but you will probably have to remove the cat back.
