Vararam filter question

Vararam filter question
Are both these filters direct drop in for the Vararam B2? They seem to be identical except one costs $23 more after adding shipping costs. Both
sites display the same stock number "33-2522". Being the cheap bastard if they are the same I will naturally take the less expensive one. One site says it's a direct drop in fit but it seems I read somewhere that the filter must be installed with silicone. Anyone know anything about this? Thanks.

Why not buy the VaraRam cloth filter from www.Vararam.com?

That is the correct filter. You will need to trim the corners a smidge to get it to fit correctly. I did silicone mine in place. It can be easily cleaned this way, and there is no chance of leakage by the filter. Here is a photo:
