Default time attack c5?

How would you go about building a daily driver c5 that you'd also use for Time Attacks?

I'm thinking of swapping in the Lingenfelter forged 403 LS2 as a starting point, but I'm not really sure where to go from there.

Right now I'm just looking at the power aspect of it (at least, as far as this thread is concerned - I AM thinking about the suspension end of things as well, but thats a seperate discussion).

So, how would you build a good time attack car without sacrificing good daily driveability (heavy-traffic driving)?

Time attack?? Not familure with that term.

Do you mean auto-cross, time trials, drag races, Land Speed records or what does it mean lowerst time wins??

A little more clearification and ppl can help with suggestions.

lol, sorry, I spend most of my time in the tuner/ricer world

"The premise of time attack is that street-car-based vehicles on "street" tires attempt to turn the single fastest lap on a given track, period. "

I think the LPE engine mods will be good and they have an excellent reputation, but I think power will probably be the least of you worries. Heavy emphasis on the correct suspension, including tires, will go a long way here. I have seen a lot of very powerful cars outrun on a track that involves "twisties" or cornering, by another who has the better suspension/tire set-up.

Maybe we should divide the forum up into subsections. We could have C5 General, younger members
C5 General, older members
C5 Tech, younger
C5 Tech, older
etc etc

I spend most of my time in the Auto-X and Road Racing forum, so I dont under stand which wax works better either

But I can tell you when younger KIDS show up on the road race circuit we OLD dudes put the young kinds to shame. Also the bigger the engine and more HP the slow they go, IF they even finish that is

Just run your car stock, and get a great dyno tune. Driver skill and lower times has far more to do with lowest times, then more HP.

Take an Evolution or Autocross driving schools to better your skills.

and for gawds sake get away from the ricers, they will just drag or drift you down to their level.

Come on over to the auto-cross and road racing forum under Corvette General. Lots of good ppl to learn from. Lists of many events too.

Wax ??
