Engine Stalling upon clutch release - Help!

I put a new battery in, put the key in and got a "service column lock" message and a "pull key wait 10 secs" along with the other service messages i knew were there (low fuel and low tire pressure)... I tested the 2mph shut off (it still cut-out). By the way I also checked... with he car off and no key in the ignition... the steering wheel was not locked (as you said)
from there I re-read your last few posts in this thread and a few others, reviewed & recorded the Codes in the DIC and cleared them out and then pulled fuses 25 and 29.
While under the passenger side footwell a modified relay harness didn't jump out at me so i went over to the drivers side knee panel to take stock.
I removed the panel and found the K-harness placed in line with the column lock. I removed it and installed the Column Lock Simulator and then put fuses 25 and 29 back in place. I started it up and everything seems set.
Guess I have an early 2001??
Anyways, thanks again, I know you have replied to a ton of these threads.
Now for my C6 ****. Good to have her back on the road its been a long 'winter' with just the pick-up truck.

The battery is charging as we speak so fingers crossed that when i head out there i don't waste a trip.
I had exact same problem today, started fine, kept dying when releasing clutch. About a week ago battery was completely dead, charged battery and left on maintain for past week. I could rev engine so figured it was not fuel pump. Read suggestion to try other key and now working great. Thanks for the help!!!!saved me a tow bill to dealer and lots of aggravation

It sounds like you are having a COLUMN LOCK sympton (i.e. 2 mph shut off). A word to the wise,,, Eventhough you THINK the other key solved the issue, I "STRONGLY" recommend that you purchase and install the LMC-5 which eliminates the issue that you are expierencing.
TRUST ME,,, I learned the difficult way many moons back when I had mY 98 Coupe.

If your car had the GM Recall, The column wont lock the steering column anymore BUT, the 2 MPH Shutoff will still strand you if the column lock system screws up.
Im sure 8VETTE7 will chime in and he is the resident COLUMN LOCK EXPERT.

Listen to what he tells you.
