Default Multiple Jacking Puck Failure!!

Those are the remnants of 2 of my jacking pucks. I was jaking up my car as usual to mount my race tires and while the car didnt drop off the jack or anything it was barely up in the air for a couple minutes before these failures happen. The left one just cracked a chunk off, the right one is hard to see but its cored out. Ive used them maybe 8 times at most, they are maybe 6 months old, they have been sitting in my front hallway however which has been like 100 degrees lately. I jacked up one side of the car and the left one happened, then i went for the other side and the right one happened.... Anyone else experience these kinds of failures?

Are these the rubber ones made from hockey pucks or actual metal? Hard to tell from the pics....

Man who sells billet ones???! I could only imagine the amount of suckage if the damn car fell off these things while I was changing the rims. They sell these for $50 a pair, and I feel quite ripped off right now... I still have 2 left that were never used....

I have billet ones as well and a set of four isn't much more. I think the guys who make the tunnel plate make a nice billet one.

I forget where I bought my billet ones (4), but they were under $50. Probably Ebay since thats where I get my best deals. I know Corvette Garage sells 4 billet ones for $60.

for Elite Engineering! They make nice stuff and no one has better customer service than them! Their pucks looks so good they should sell them in sets of five (5) so you can use one on your desk as a paper weight!

The problem with hockey pucks is if you are on the road and need your car lifted, they won't use them. I carry the billet ones with me at all times because most places won't have them.

Never had that happen.
I just carry the stock pucks. Just drop one on the jack saddle. I do have the AA rails. In that I change to race wheels often I am sure I have lifted the car 100 times with them. If you lift just behind the mirror both wheels come up.

The thing I really like about the Elite Engineering pucks is they are tall and come in RED. It make it very easy to see hanging under the car. The last thing you want to do is Puck Up and drive down the road! No one wants to become a member of the FPC "Flying Puck Club!

I have the aluminum ones that Mid America sells for about $70 for a set of 4. I've had the rubber ones and they are junk. Get the aluminum ones!

I forgot to take a puck out last month after I changed my rotors. Luckily I took off from a stop sign when it fell out only going about 5 mph, but man did it make a bunch of racket under there bouncing around. I looked in my mirror and thought what the hell did I run over. I decided to turn around to see, and woops...there was my puck.

I got the lift pads made for the BMW. They install permanently and are not noticeable when installed.
