I have a 2002 Z06 and keep getting a 'low washer fluid' warning in the DIC. I completely filled the reservoir, but the warning keeps coming back. I'm assuming the sensor is bad, but was wondering if anyone else has ever had this happen? If so what's involved in replacing he sensor?
Mine does that and has for a few years...funny thing is there is no fluid in it as the pump is FUBAR....its just every now and again the message comes up
I have looked at it but I think if you just pull the tank the sensor plugs in the back....
Most sensor problems are wiring related, so the first thing to check is the sensor connectors. Sometimes unplugging and replugging will correct the problem.
That warning has popped up now and then but has been good, lately. The thing that bothers me is the leaking fluid that dribbles up on the windshield when I accelerate hard. I have to have a towel handy to clean up the windshield afterwards.
You can leave the sensor installed in the tank but remove the harness plug from it and you will no longer be bothered with such messages. This is the quick fix
Actually you likely need to rotate the sensor 180 degrees. If it is in upside down it will set the error even when the reservoir is full. It is a float that needs to be in contact with the other half of the switch when the tank is full.

Was that on the inside or the outside of the windshield ?
sorry just couldn't resist !!!
