Why is every cold air intake backordered?

Why is every cold air intake backordered?
First tried ordering a Honker from COH and was BO. Tried the auction which supposedly had 5, ordered it and he called said he was out.
Tried ordering the MTI ram air, BO.
Called WCC, tried to order Hurricane, BO.
All I want is an intake that draws cold air from outside the engine, that I can mount my dry n20 nozzles on, like the stock airbox.
Anyone tried that new Volant intake with box. Another option is the Vortex but it seems small. How bout mounting the jets on a vararam?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
