Default After setting Two weeks battery is down

It done this a while back so i thought the battery was bad so I got a new one and it still does it. Is it because of all the electronics on these cars? Will it hurt to just unhook it when I have it setting for a while?

It's best to unhook the battery if it's going to sit for an extended period of time. You also might want to look into a battery tender if you're going to leave it sitting often.

There are lots of little things that can drain a battery over a week or two... even a key fob in left in passive mode within range of the car can drain it eventually if the DIC is set to respond to it.

My car can sit for a couple months (last winter it sat for almost 3) and fire right up. I dont understand some of these cars that need battery tenders on them if they sit even a couple weeks.

I keep the battery tender on mine as well. Our BMW does the same thing, I think the alarm also draws more if the car is locked so I don't lock the Vette in the garage. Not sure what I would do if I ever left the BMW at an airport for two weeks

Battery tender is a good option

I got a friend of mine to put a disconnect on his BMW. He travels often and had to call AAA a couple of times. Mounts right on the battery and you just flip the handle. Downside is no alarm.

You need to do a current draw test to see how much current you car is using once it goes in to the SLEEP MODE. There are many things that can cause excessive curent draw. Your car should draw right around 20-25 milliamps once the BCM goes to sleep.

I used to live in Bettendorf, Iowa
What do you use to warm up the car parked outside in -20 degree COLD? My old chevy pumped 5 quarts of oil on the street after sitting there following a blizard. BIGHANK

That's easy, I just don't drive it when it's that cold.
