Good day everyone. I purchased a smooth intake coupler and I just noticed that my OEM accordian coupler has a a small ose connected to it. Any idea what I am suppose to do with that because my coupler doesn't have that hole. The hole is about 1/4" in diameter. Any input would help.
97-98 c5 used the coupling area to reference intake vacuum for fuel pressure regulator vacuum reference. You can "T" off the PCV vacuum port for the fuel pressure regulator vacuum reference which (in theory should help lean out the engine and improve performance)... I did this on my 98 and it helped performance a little bit by leaning out the fuel charge. ECKLERS sells a kit to do this and all it is is a "T" fitting whitch switches fuel pressure vacuum reference to the PCV references area to the PCV port vise the accordin tube port.
C5 are by GM spec,, designed to be a little bit RICH.. If you change the fuel pressure ref araa to the PCV port, it is suppost to help correct this issue.
You will need to drill an identical hole in your smooth coupler. Starting in 2001, this holes was not included in the OEM coupler.
the hole mig is referring to is the line for the FP regulator that Bill pointed out
the hole you are referring to is the IAT(intake air temp) sensor that was moved to the MAF in 2001, this is located in the plastic 'bellows' that crosses the top of the rad/cond
