Default Car not locking

The driver side door will not lock sometimes when I push the lock button on my fob. You can here the doors locking but if you watch it, the lock button will try to move to the lock position, but it barely will move. It will not fully engage to the lock position. Other times when you lock the car it will lock. Although, the alarm is always set when I lock the car. Is this a problem with the door control module or what??

I have the same problem. Read IMPORTANT ELECTRICAL INFORMATION posted at the top. Seems to be what we both need to do!

In your case you most likely have a bad door control module. Specificaly, the lock relay. There are two lock control relays in each door module. Lock and un lock. The contacts that pass the voltage to the lock solinoid burn up. There have been people who have replaced the relays with success. There are a couple of post on relar replacement.

Here is a pic of the module:

Hope this helps

I cut open the relay and cleaned the points and it seemed to work ok. But a few months later, the problem came back. I next replaced the relay and that seems to have solved the problem. I had trouble removing the old relay. Get a friend with circuit board experience if you can to do the repair.

There is a post somewhere that lists the relay you need. I got it from Digi-Key and the part number is 255-1239-ND.
