Default Injectors Q's

I have a 98 vert thats running ruff right now. I've changed plugs/plug wires about 4 times in 1 month and still running ruff and ruff idle and blowing white smoke from exh which smells real rich. I have a H/C package/vararam/ported TB/Ls6 Intake. Car has been running good up until now. Car has 125k. I can get on the hwy and run 65 - 100 for an hr trip and sometimes it will run ok. And sometimes while driving, the car feels like it's loading up and will start to skip until I put the car in neutral and rev the motor or floor it and it will clear up and start to run ok until next time. Some one told me I might have leaky injectors. Has anyone ever ran into this problem. HELP/HELP This problem is getting on my last nerve. John

White smoke can also be indicitive of a cooling leak, is your coolant level OK? To check the injectors, you need to do a balance test. You will need a pressure gage and an injector testor (about $45) to do this (Actron makes one). It is not hard to do once you have these two tools. If you usually work on the car yourself, the cost of having someone else do this check will pay for the tools required and then you will have the tools for future use.

Have you set any codes? I would think if you were dumping that much fuel a code would have set by now.

Can you explain the balance test in some detail?
I can't find the injector testor for under $285

Thanks.
