The silicone that MSD uses is heat resistant but VERY brittle. You can break it off in hunks if your not careful!
I do not like there fasteners on either end of the wire.
I always promote:
Purchase wires for material and hardware quality and durability!! A $500. set of fancy big name wires will NOT net you any more HP than a properly operating set of OEM wires on the C5 cars that we drive and modify. If your wires fit well, have the correct internal resistance and are not burnt, cut or grease soaked, save your money!!
If you have a pro stock engine with a magneto which produces 80-90Kv with tons of current, then you might need some wires with a little better insulation!!

http://shielsmasonry.com/MSDEND.jpg end clips on like crap and doesn't stay on. Burned my hands at track trying to keep putting them on. Car was misfiring and ruined 5 track days. I even had my mechanic put them on and it was the same crap. Others on the forum have had similar problems.
HOLY dog ****!!! I think I just foung my problem! I've been chasing an issue with EFIlive for a couple of months that's making me run rough and extremely rich and miss fire. I've taken the wires on and off and it runs fine but some times it goes back to running rough.
I broke 4 of mine pulling them off (7 years old), does it really help to get the MSD's or should I just go buy the stock ones?
I have also broken more than a couple of wires getting them off. Next time try unplugging from the coil side first then twisting the plug boot until it turns freely. Make sure you grip the boot firmly near the end (close to the plug) before you pull. This is advice I got from a tech at Taylor. Seems to work for me.
