Default Bucking / Hesitation Problem

I just had a new engine installed in my 2001.

I took my car for a ride and it was ok on the Highway.
However after I raced the engine a little something happened.

It starting bucking and hesitating through all gears very badly.

Nothing is leaking and it is idling ok.

I am going to call the dealer tomorrow.
I appreciate anybody's help.
Thank Jerry

Your c5 has a built in DTC reader. Its easy! follow the steps in this website:

This is the absolute best C5 Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) web site!!!

http://www.corvettedoctor.com/Code_Main.html
http://www.corvettedoctor.com/index.html

Go to “technical data base” and then to “Corvette ECM Computer Codes”. Then select your year car. Read the instructions and then scroll down to the "READ MORE" window to view the code definitions.\

Here is another very good site:

http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_cod...d-ii-codes.php

Make sure to include the H or C suffix!!

Write down and post your DTC’s Then clear them ALL!

Sound effects are cool too! 

Was it a GM crate motor? How many miles on it before you raced it?

Raceing is far from the best thing to do on a new engine. Did you ever pull the codes.

No I haven't had a chance. The weather in N.E. is to cold to mess with it now.

To be honest, I didn't race it that hard. I should have paid attention the RPM's but I didn't.

The dealer is going to check it for me at some point soon.
It is under warranty. Thank God.

Lost Communication. Is this related to the hesitation?
Thanks Jerry

NO it will not cause the problem. Those codes relate to the radio frequency amp that receives the signals from your FOBs and TPS.

Check for loose or damaged wires or Incorrectly connected wires or damaged plugs.

Have you ever see the chech engine light flash during the problem???

Remove the plugs and look for cracks on the insulators.

I just dropped my car off at the dealership.
On the way the Check engine light came on.
I checked the DTC codes and received a PO300 Engine Misfire.
My car is under warranty and they just installed a new engine so back it goes.
Thanks Jerry

You thinking the same thing I am Bill? Very very possible a grounding issue (or more accurately, a lack of). Especially at the cylinder head.

Bad/Good news if that's what it turns out to be. Bad news you've already experienced, i.e. misfires, etc. Good news is it's relatively easy and cheap to repair. Let's hope that's all it is.

Whatever it is my warranty should cover it. This is a brand new engine put in by the dealership under my warranty.

I'll post their diagnosis when I find out.

Only a loose spark plug wire.
Thank God!

It's nice to know how to pull the DTC codes.

Thanks for all your help.
