Default Help with Codes C1281 and C1288

Pulled the drivetrain, installed ne pilot bearing, had tranny rebuilt/upgraded. Get it all together and I keep getting these two codes. I can't find anything on C1288 and I don't understand C1281

Edit: Also removed rack to get to balancer bolt... From what I can see all harnesses are connected. Can they be backwards?

1281 Steering sensor uncorelated malfunction means that your steering wheel position sensor is NO LONGER zeroed. When you removed the rack, you must have rotated the steering wheel or moved the rack /wheel position.. They can NOT be moved. Now the EBTCM cant compute where the steering wheel is pointing. You need to realign the steering wheel.

1288 Steering sensor circuit malfunction. Same issue. The EBTCM is just complaining!!

Yep. I was wondering about that.

I moved the wheel around some when I was trying to get the driver's side header out. Crap. Trial and error time I guess.

Thanks Bill!!

You must have turned it least one full turn. The question is which way was it turned.

..And be careful turning it too many revolutions in the wrong direction; you can damage the air-bag clock spring. There are access points in the wiring harness to monitor the 5.0v output to verify proper orientation, or you can use the educated guess method.

OK, lets say that I did damage the air-bag clock spring. I am assuming that may bring code B0026... Ask me how I know
What now??? How do I get to this thing? I popped off the lower dash and all I see hanging is the CLB connector that has been 'fixed'

PS - C1288 & C1281 have been dealt with. On the second try, shoulduv went right first
