No sir. The car has offroad mids. The rears are installed but I'm not sure if they're doing anything currently. I guess they're installed and plugged in but I think that's about where it ends. Again, the car is currently in open loop.
Do you have the rears tuned out then? If not then your rear O2's will always show an error. They are there to measure the voltage difference from the front sensors to determine if the cats are working or not; since you have no cats, theres no voltage difference and you get an error or not ready. You will need to either put cats on or tune out the rears.

They are tuned out. That much has been taken care of. i'm just trying to figure out how to get the darn EVAP readiness to run. I haven't done a think with the EVAP system.

My laptop software allows me to cycle the evap system to test-there really aren't many ways at home to test without commanding the valves to open. Many times the culprit is the gas cap but that generally sets a code if it fails too many times.
According to my mechanic he says the EVAP readiness only runs between a half and a quarter tank of fuel. I just dropped under a half tank soooooooooo i'm corssing my fingers.

I threw a lean code on my way to an inspection 3 yrs ago, reset my codes, and failed ALL emissions testing. Everything was NOT READY. I had to do the driving cycles to clear the "NOT READY's".
I actually heard that Colin county (where I get my inspection done) allows no more than 1 "Not ready". This changed a year or so ago I heard. They used to allow 2 Not Ready's.
Are you sure its still 2x allowed in Colin county ?

For vehicles year model 2001 and newer, we allow one (1) non-continuous monitor to be Not Ready and still pass the test, but two (2) or more Not Ready's will cause the vehicle to fail.
For vehicles year model 1996 – 2000, we allow two (2) non-continuous monitors to be Not Ready and still pass the test, but three (3) or more Not Ready's will cause the vehicle to fail.
There are three (3) continuous monitors that are always Ready: Misfire, Fuel System, and Comprehensive Components. If you look at your Vehicle Inspection Report (VIR), you will see the emissions monitors listed and their Ready/Not Ready status. If any of the non-continuous monitors say N/A (Not Available) or N/S (Not Supported), then there is no monitor for that system.
This information is illustrated in a "Ready or Not" poster displayed in all of the emissions testing stations as well as the Recognized Emissions Repair Facilities (RERF's).
Mine had the EBCM replaced prior to testing and they disco'd the batt. I hadnt driven more then 20 miles it since they replaced it and had 3 not readys. Drove around for couple days and it went to 2 and passed; haven't had any issues in the since then 06-07 i believe.
Toque, have you had any issues passing since three years ago? Do you have a certain routine you follow every year? You have hi-flow cats, right?
I have Hi-Flow cats and haven't had a issue since GM disco'd my batt. I am not tuned and the rears are still active. LG Pros and RT Metal Matrix Cats since 05 or 06 and I've passed with no issues every time except when they replaced the EBCM and unplugged the batt. I dont do anything before the inspection other than making sure the car is warmed up.

Any truth to this? Drove a bunch tonight...got below half tank...still got the monitor locked in
Been there! One year I tried about four times before I learned about the "Driving Cycle". My problem (besides a highly modified C5) is that I would either get a dead battery or it had been disconnected to do some work, either way I would lose my computer memory until I did a complete Drive Cycle. It has to be done EXACTLY as written! Just driving it a bunch of miles wont do it unless you drive it a lot of miles and get lucky. Most prople don't drive exactly 55mph down the highway and then coast down to 20mph without touching the brakes.
I found an "off ramp" with an uphill slope that I use for that part. It's a pain in the butt!
glad I live out in west texas, only inspection, no emissions, just pay $14.50 and motor away. Pissee techs look under car for cats, holes etc. and test gas cap. Someday in not so distant future all of texas will have to meet higher standard I was told by a local tech, don't know when however.
