I know there is the GM fluids which is 2 quarts of synthetic 89021677 and limited slip additive 1052358. This retails about $50. What else is out there?
DTE requires Redline in thier differentials, they have done a lot of testing and have posted in the past what they found. Right now (stock rear) I am running Amsoil with no issues, but I bought a DTE rear and the oil from DTE will go in with the rear. I also bought two extra (DTE pre-mix) from them for the swap after break-in. Some will depend on how hard you drive the car as well.
If I did not shell out $590 for each of my rear tires that might be a possibility. I went through 2 sets of rear tires in a matter of 5K when I bought the car last year. While figure 8's are a little difficult when the car whips so hard, donuts are fun because it comes around fast as hell and then just sits there for a few seconds and burns up Trust me, all the neighbors in the court love that show.
The figure 8's are done at IDLE speed. The owners manual even says this.
Now dont get me wrong when its tire changing time, its burnout/donut time til the cords show. If you're going thru tires in 5K then stop doing burnouts or get your alignment checked
HAHA My bad. I thought you guys were being a bunch of smartasses and talking trash . Never thought to do a figure 8 slow. I will keep that in mind, problem is I will be temopted to whip it if I find a big lot like that.
