Keeping it straight
Got a '99 stock with TI exhaust, A4, 3:15 rear gears, and a CoW tune from Chuck. It will burn about 8 feet and feels a little squirly when it does the 1-2 shift after punching it off the line (about 30 foot burn there). Using Goodyear D'3s. When i'm in 4 gear, driving normal then punch it to WOT the engine picks up too much RPM when it gets back to first gear and I get what you describe. The cure's are try to be in second gear (or at least 3rd) before you WOT backshift to first, it doesn't come as strong and it can be managed. Even more important, don't be doing this when rolling around someone on a pass and don't be on a curved road, you'll have too roll out with a little throttle and get alligned straight then hit WOT and you should be able to keep it straight. My trans also has non-stock settings for throttle pressure, torque management, and raised shift points (RPM) . All this is with TC off, not in Performance Mode.
