Disconnected battery
My 2004 'vert is on route to England.
Shortly before it go's into a container, they have to dis-connect the battery, saftey reasons.
So the battery will be dissconnected for about 5 ~ 6 weeks.
What will I have to do when I re-connect the battery?
or will every thing just carry on from when it was dis-conneted.
G.
You may get reception issues in the UK with an American Boose radio since the FM frequency spectrum of the radio stations in the UK all end in an even number i.e 96.6 Mhz where as in the US they end on an odd number like 96.5 Mhz. This can be reprogrammed I think.
As far as the car is concerned, after reconnecting the battery again, it will fire right up.
One more tip: before you finally put the car in the container, put some moisture absorbing agent in the cabin. This prevents fungus on leather seats during the trip. I used an open tray with ordinary kitty litter. This is cheap and serves the purpose very well.

Mine was just fine when it emerged from its box. Hook up and go!
Shame you cant ship with a full tank of gas. its about to hit £1 a litre here. Incidentally, I've been running on regular with no problems.

Great to hear from you.
I am here in U.K. already.
The 'vette is onboard a Maersk container vessel,
I got a service done the day before I dropped the 'vette off at the shipping agents in Houston.
he told me not to arrive with more than quarter tank, or he will drain it for his own car, in a jokingly manner.
Any way, just before I dropped it off, I made sure I just had quarter tank.
Agents loaders who put it into the container, will disconnect the battery.
When my Firebird arrived, I pulled the head unit, and fitted an mp3 card reader/ disc player radio.
I am loath to do this to the 'vette, and may just put up with the 0,2mhz spacings.
Just using std audio cd's.
I have done the rear light mods.
I have the links ready to install, when i pull the 2 x relays dthat will disable the front drl's
I have the 2 x additional front lights that will become the front side lights.
Also got the fog light.
It was on the Firebird for just 2 days ! before I pulled it.
Dare say the 'vette will be just the same.
Vessel due to arrive 14th may. say 10 days for customs and vat.
Then I can book the sva, and get to work on the remaining mods.
