Just had cracked windshield replaced. I am concerned they installed the wrong windshield. The top trim above the doors now has a 1/4 inch gap between it and the roof panel. Also one of the trianglular panels by the side windows is sticking out as well. I just cannot think that is right. They came back and looked at it but insist that it's right. I can't find a Hardtop around here to compare it to.
Bearing in mine my car is a Hardtop/FRC without the Hud, does anyone know the correct aftermarket part number for my car?
I seached on here and found the thread that mentions DW01430GBN.
The one they installed is DW01325GBN
What is the difference? Is it thicker/thinner and is the difference enough to cause the trim to not install correctly?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Reason: typos
Can't help any on the PN's but the whole thing sounds like shoddy workmenship! From what I have heard, it takes someone with C5 experience to do a quality job.
Look up Fitchner chevrolet, they're a forum sponser, ask for Corvette Bob. He's fantastic, got me the correct shield when every dealer near me told me they weren't available. He'll give you the GM part number and you can check that against the glass shops part number on their invoice.
I'd offer to help, but the windshield on my FRC is a replacement as well. It also leaks under high pressure carwashes, and I mean a lot. I would agree to make sure you get someone qualified to do any repair to the windshield, as I appear to be a victim of shoddy workmanship (it was comissioned by the previous owner). Good luck!
After much research it seems I may have the correct windshield installed but I'm not convinced.
Could any of the Hardtop owners out there take a look at the gap between their drip channels (above each door) and the roof? The gap I have is at least the thickness of 2-3 pennies. Is everyones like that?
I wish I had taken pictures beforehand

Pics would be terrific. I can't find another Hardtop around here to go look at. I guess maybe a newer model Z06 might be the same trim?
I did find a suggestion on a Z06 site that maybe they didn't scrape off all the old sealant when they installed the drip channel and maybe that's why it's not laying flush. They have already taken it off twice but I wasn't there to watch. I guess I will go buy some sealant and take it apart myself and see if I can do a better job myself.
I called 10 differnt glass companies and these were the only guys that seemed like they knew anything about Corvettes (Lawrence Glass Company). A dealer even argued with me that there were only ever two types of Vettes's in 99 - Coupe and convertible!!!! I hung up on him........
Regarding the thinner Z06 glass - thats what I thought but they say that part only shows up for 2001 and up. Plus from what i have read it's 4.8mm versus 5.4mm - might not be enough to make up the kind of gap difference I'm dealing with.
They ran the vin through GM and are convinced its the right windshield.
If anyone knows the correct part #'s - they installed DW01325GBN which is supposed to be the equivilant of OEM 10295097

I just took some pennies out and measured my 03Z. On the drivers side above the door the trim has a space that will allow two pennies between the trim and the painted roof. This gap is constant from front to the trim joint at the rear of the door glass. On the passenger side the gap is only large enough for one penny and is tight enough in a couple of places that a single penny would be stuck if inserted.
Hope this helps. I took a bunch of pictures after I saw your post as I am having the glass replaced on mine tomorrow. Will see what happens. I doubt they have any C5 experience since there just aren't that many C5s in the area and probably not many of those (especially the 20 or so hardtops) have had their windshield crack.
Bill - thanks so much for those pics. I think my gap is a little bigger but not much. Makes me feel a little better about the whole situation - I had just never noticed there was a gap at all!
I might still take it apart and try to snug it up a little more by cleaning out all the old sealant behind the drip channel. Make sure your installers do that as its apparantly pretty common for them not to. Good luck with yours tomorrow.
I don't have an FRC, but it doesn't look that that trim is installed properly too me.
Along that same line, anyone know how to get off the upper windshield trim without destroying it? I seem to have a gap on mine that air is somehow getting past and into the car. The seal itself looks good and tight(Coupe).
It seems to me that the coupe, vert and FRC all have the same windshield other than the built-in radio antenna on the coupe. I'm in Frankin, you're welcome to stop by and compare with my coupe. Who did the work? Walker?
NAGS 1325 is for 98-04 conv w/o HUD as is the GM 10295097
The GM part number for 99-00 FRC is 10426714 which was also used in the 99-01 conv w/HUD
The GM part number for 01-04 Z06 is 10315114 which was also used in the 02-04 conv w/HUD
NAGS [National Auto Glass Specifications] utilizes only one part number for 99-04 FRC/Z06 which is NAGS 1430.
Current list price for a 1430 is $247.90
Since the Z06/FRC interchanges with conv w/HUD windshield,Conv w/HUD owners can save $ by specifying a NAGS1430 vs NAGS1371 which lists for $1,065.65
Appears the incorrect windshield may have been installed in your car.
