427 Installation Complete!
A local shop, RMCR, did all of the installation work and I did the baseline/startup tune. I loaded up the tune, turned the key, and it fired right up. It then settled right down to a nice idle with a bit of lope. I still need to get some break in miles on it and finish the drivability tuning. I’ll then rent RMCR’s dyno and do the power tuning.
I think that I’ll spend some time driving the Vette this weekend!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts
I bought the 427 shortblock from Scoggin Dickey Parts Center (SPDC). It is a LS7 block with an Eagle crank, SCAT H-beam rods, and (I think) JE pistons. The cam is a COMP Cams recommended 230/242 115 on XE-R lobes. The heads are Livernois Motorsports stage 2 CNC ported L92. The compression ratio came out to right at 11:1.
The cost:
short block assembled, shipped $5995
assembled heads shipped $1830
LS2 oil pan, gaskets, etc ~$1000
L76 intake, complete $ 528
Katech Valve covers $1000
MSD Coils $600
It looks like it came to about $11k. About $2k of that were things that I added that were optional.
There are more where this came from. SDPC will be glad to build you one. As you can see it is not stock. I expect (and hope) that this will put down at least 500rwhp.
