I'm trying to make up my mind on which coilover suspension to convert to. Has anyone tried either Callaway's own coilover suspension conversion or the one they developed with Eibach ?
I don't want to lower the car very much as it is a daily driver and scrapes on enough speed bumps and ramps already, but I do want something that rolls less and changes direction quicker.
I have had Z51 suspension from new. I run the car on circuits once or twice a year (chicanes are when I feel the car lumbers about most), also occasionally on drag strips. UK roads are a lot more twisty that US ones so I probably spend a lot more time turning than most !
I've been a passenger in a C6 Z06 and felt the poise of that car was so much better than mine that I want to do something about it.
For a car that sees the street more than the track, Pfadt Racing is the way to go.
I have the Pfadt system myself although I haven't really been able to test it. I have street driven it and the spring rates, with a 19/20 setup are totally acceptable. The Pfadt's have more adjustment than the LG's and I beleieve the LG's and have had others say the LG's are to harsh for the street. If you do road course and track I would say the Pfadt's are the best option. Reason being is on the tps of the coilovers there is a **** to adjust the dampening, at the track you can turn that to it's softest position so that off the line the rear will "give" to help the tires grip. One thnig about Pfadt is their customer service is awesome!!!! I just put an APS twin turbo system on my car and had ordered their coilovers and sway bars. I went to put the frotn sway bar on and it didn't fit. I e-mailed Arun for some info at late at night, buy the next morning, 11 AM my time he personally called me. Not only that but I just wanted to know if I would damage the torsion of the bar by cutting it and heating it up. He told me not to worry, tell him what I wanted done to the bar and the endlinks, send it back to him, he would take care of it and get it right back out to me!!!!! NO CHARGE!!! that's the greatest customer service I have come upon myself. Good Luck on your choices, but I would stick between LG and Pfadt, just my opnion but I don't like how the Callaway system keeps the stock torsion bars in place! Good Luck!

For those of you with the Pfadt and LG coilovers, how easy is it to adjust them on the car ? I've never tried anything like this before so would like to know if it is simply a case of getting a few spanners out for 5 minutes or does it take longer ?

You have to raise the car to adjust the sways. You will only do it once for a tight track or autocross. Most of the time you will leave it at its stiffest setting for all other applications in front and one less in rear.
The dampening of the shock is adjusted in an actual minute, the best feature of Pfadts coil over. I adjust mine often for the road and event. You turn a thumbscrew at the top of the fronts and use a 3mm allen for the rear.
Ride heigth is adjustable by raising the car and loosening a spanner nut at the base of the shock, then you turn the shock to raise or lower the car.
Pfadt is an awesome setup, plus is alot of bang for the buck.

I have Pfadt's and the adjusters are under the windshield and coolant tanks for the front. Takes about 5 minutes to adjust.
In the rears, you drill holes before installing *don't worry the shock area is sealed". Just flip up the carpet and adjust.
The Pfadt's are really nice units and you can adjust your height which I needed to clear body panel kits. Work on the body kit is still in process.

I have a couple sets of our coilovers over there. Martin Croch and Paul Pavlou both are running our coilovers. You can find them out picky on the Italy's finnest PM me if you would like there contact info. I'm sure they would give you a ride anytime.
Randy is simply letting the thread poster (and everyone else) know there is a third choice; DRM coil overs. I have them on my car, they work brilliantly.

I was confused by the post, I know DRM is an awesome product. Nothing inferred gentleman.
Sorry I should have been more clear. I have atleast 50 sets of coilovers overseas. Two guys in the past couple of monthes bought coilovers from me. They both live in the UK and use their cars on the track and on the streets. Paul loves to run with the Italy cars, because they are 5 times the money and have a hard time keeping up with his car. Martin I know drives his car a hour daily, but loves going to the track too. Martin works with a damn good shop for all of his track prep, these guys know how to setup a car.
Randy (Sorry guys I failed english, but score a perfect on Scientfic reasoning on the ACT.)
PS I will send over the contact info on Monday AM, if nothing else you meet a few good Corvette owners in your area, the UK.
