I have an intermittant problem with my turn signal indicators, I can use the car one day and they work perfectly then the next day they won't work at all. They never start or stop working whilst the engine is running only once the engine is switched off then on again. Whilst they are not working the hazards only work if you hold the button all the way in as far as you can push it, they stop if you let go. I have checked the fuses.
I fixed that issue last fall on my car and now (about 9 months later) I'm starting to see intermittent flakiness with the new module! Occassionally, the signals will flash very slowly or stop working until I tap on the hazard switch. Not even 1 year on the new flasher module and it's dying! I called the dealer where I got the replacement (~30 bucks + tax, by the way) and was able to convince them that they should warrantee this busted POS of a flasher module. Someone needs to build a reliable version of these stupid things...

I had a similiar problem....I thought my stalk switch was going out and it turned out to be a fuse. Unfornately I got a another switch from a parted out 02 for $125.00 before I found the bad fuse. Now I have a extra stalk switch. If you think your stalk switch is going out I will let mine go for the same price $125.00 shipped.
Looks like your hazard switch is done. A dead switch will also affect the T/S
Its a fairly common problem. Do a search and you'll find a "How To" replace the switch.
Thanks for your help, when you say switch do you mean the flasher unit or the actual black (with red triangle) switch on the facia, and how do I "do a search"?!!

You can pop the hazard button (black w/ red triangle) out of the dash if you're careful. The actual switch will remain in the dash. The switch and the flasher module/unit are one piece. That part has to go back into the dash for removal.
Log in and look at the red bar going across the page near the top of page showing the forum list. There's a search button.
