My car is incredibly quiet. The is almost no valve train noisel. I run Caddy Racing lifters, .110 wall Trend pushrods and Comp 921 springs with a 234-240 XE-R cam. The is in a forged 403 L92 setup.
The amount of ticking sound depends on the ramps of the lobes on the cam. I have learned that if you want quiet then you want stock. I desided I didn't need quiet.

I have ridden in this car... it is damn quite. You hear the engine from the exhaust pipes not the from under the hood...
and all those people say " you need ot check rod length blah blah....it can not be stopped........sewing machine will continue. Mine does it to. I pulled up to a car show last week and a guy goes..."who tighted yoru rocker arms, they need ot be fired!" I tried to explian its supposed to do that....but i finished mid story and walked away....
^^^^ Reminds me of the saying "If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand"

I got the Trend PR's from Jason at Texas Speed. These are .030 thicker wall than most use but they certainly won't flex on XE-R lobes. After measuring, I ended up with 7.40 PR's.

This must be Scott. Here's a quote from Pipedream after he road in my car.
"I just road in this car...
Of all the rides I have been in this is absolutely the most mechanically quiet. I simply don't understand it, 13 degrees overlap and the steering wheel was not shaking at all at idle. You hear the car from the exhaust, not from under the hood...
Throttle response was brutal and rolling through 3rd gear flat puts your *** in the seat.
Absolutely the most civilized 500rwhp I have ever experienced... Props to all those involved
Myself and others with this problem sure would like to hear this car run.
There's a vid that Chip made on Chip's (Custom Corvette Accessories) site when I frst picked up the car last December. I checked, at the end of the vid you can hear the car. Typical cold forged motor noise but no valve noise. The typical forged sounds go away when it warms up.

Thanks for the input, I may call to see what these are about.

From my perspective the PR's and the rockers definitely made a difference, albeit a small one. You've done all you can do; if it's still too loud then it's stock cam time.

It is, what it is. I love the power and torque. No sound inside while cruising, only can be heard when the windows are down..this is what others can exspect with a cam change..

Thank you, I appreciate it. That pic is a bit stale now, I've gone to super-secret SSR/SSF 18" / 19" wheel combo; I finally found wheels that are within 1 pound of stock Z06's that didn't break the bank (on-sale / discontinued), so no significant weight penalty and I can run the C6 Z51-sized brake rotors (and still swap back to Z06 front wheels for track days). The 305/30/19's hook up really well.

I have the new style Yella Terra rockers and I also have part# for lifters are 88958689 It says racing lifters on the box.I just installed a new cam and the base circle is smaller then the cam I had in there.I ordered longer pushrods but did not put them in yet and I'm still using the stock length,I'm also still breaking in the new motor with Valvoline VR1 non synthetic 10-30 racing oil and I have zero valve tick.I don't know if its the oil or not.I'm going to go with Pennzoil platinum when I'm ready,If I get any sewing machine sound with Pennzoil I'm going back to Valvoline. So what I'm getting at is maybe try a different oil and see what happens...............Paul
A friend told me to try 20w50 Redline and if it didn't work try Valvoline 20w50..so in agreement to what you are saying I'm going to try those brands and weights to see if it's an improvement..
thanks
