The stainless works is a nice system, often overlooked with the hype from others. I believe they also make a true 3" cat back as well. I don't have them but looked at them hard prior to making my final decision and buying my QTP's. Several on this board run them, hopefully they will provide some feedback.

I have the complete header and 3" exhaust system with high flow cats and an X pipe. Quality is 100% fantastic. I have it on my 02 Z06. It has a Vararam VB2, Home ported TB, Throttle Body By-Pass mod, 170 degree thermostat and professional tune. The car makes a solid 390 rear wheel HP and 375 TQ. I have had numerous people comment on my exhaust note and want the system.

There is very little interior cabin exhaust drone but the system really roars when you hammer on the car.

I have pictures at home. If you want them, PM me your e-mail address.

I have the 3" exhaust on my 97'...........nice and quiet with a very interesting tone going down the track. Headers would be as nice but I have others on as of now.

I had a poor fit issue with my pass. side SW header. Had their rep look at it while on a lift. The RF o2 sensor located in the collector was shoved up against the frame of the floor. You could hear the contact of the parts when the torque of the engine shifted things.

The SW rep.said cut the frame to get it to fit better! Stainless Works won't replace the header for that! Man my BP was rising at that time!

Long story made short, I got tired of messing around and I ended up buying a replacement pass. side header myself. I had it JetHot coated to match the other. After getting the new header in there and all the exhaust system parts loose fittted in there we discovered the Stainless Works in all their infinite wisdom forgot to weld on the mounting tab on the collector!!!

Had to cut the tab off the old header and weld it onto the new one.
So if your asking me if you should buy headers from Stainless Worthless, my answer is NO. Their customer support stinks!

Go with either American Racing or Kooks.

I like my SW LTHs on my 02. The only problem I had was with the front O2 sensors. Got codes until I switched to rear O2s on the front - now no problems. The headers are very well built.

I have never had any DTC's or O2 sensor issues with (20,000) miles on the headers. The only issues I have had is a couple of minor slip joint leaks so, I up-graded to duel bolt band clamps to better seal the slip joints. The car has 42K on the clock total. Still has the OEM O2 sensors

Hey Bill,

Did you clean your garage or something? It looks better then when I say it. By the way, I drove Bill’s car with the SW headers and the sound is awesome. Knowing how “detailed oriented” a person he is, if he says they are good, you can take it to the bank.

SW is highly recommended for the Corvette by another CF. It is said to be the best fitting header for the C5/ZO6.
