As usual, I am utterly perplexed why anyone would buy these headers with the information that is available concerning fitment issues, etc. I am equally confused why anyone who owns a world class sports car, would want to buy something for it that they have to "make work", heat up, beat into place, bend a/c lines , and render their car as yet another experiment for SSA to actually get their sh*t together. I must say, I do derive a sick pleasure in watching you guys do this to yourselves(and your vettes).

I remember when I was a kid, beating on a pair of cheap headers I bought for my 72 Chevelle, trying to get them to fit. It sucked, but I was determined to make them fit because they were soo much cheaper than the hooker headers my buddy bought for his 71 SS(even though his fit perfect). I finally got them to fit, and they worked fine for the time I had the car. I did leave that experience knowing that I would never buy something cheaper again that I had to make work, when I could just save my money a little longer, and get something that fit perfect.

So for those of you that want to buy brand X and make them work, go for it. But don't give us that bullsh*t about "corvette tax". Your "corvette tax" is just the extra money someone spends to buy a product that has been well engineered, and made to fit on a C5.

Finally, if paying a "corvette tax" means I'm going to receive a product of high quality, that has actually been engineered to fit on my car, that bolts up the first time, I don't have to cut holes in my vette or bend air conditioning lines, and my install doesn't precipitate a 20 page thread of "how I made them work"......I'll pay the extra everytime.

Have you ever thought that the problem might have been the Installer who put them on?

And you sir, are the exact man LG and kooks target.. The cash clown.. Thats How they sleep at night.

Plain and simple- Afternarket is aftermarket. Fit Is never the same as a factory piece..

Ive had High dollar turbo manifolds and such Not even work right so the phrase that pays "The expensive one is better" Isnt always true..

Again, For someone who doesnt have superior mechanical skills, goahead Dish out your wallet, and buy them to save an extra 30 minutes install time.

it seems your the one thats makeing it seem like YOU know what the hell your talking about, seeming like you own something you dont with all the argument, Hell you havent even installed headers on your c5 and your trying to pass judgement... either way.. You go ahead and shell out the money,Because youll need to.. This isnt ya olde' chevelle, and if you couldnt handle that, you sure cant handlle the c5. The rest of us with skills will be fine for a 1/3rd of the price and make as much power.

Hi vettekid and lucky -

Neither of you are contributing to this threads topic anymore.

You will never convince each other that one idea is right.

Please do not let your discussion deteriorate in public.

I am leaning toward the $300 headers for our 99 coupe.

I have the LG Pro's on my Z, and I highly recommend LG products and service.

There are a couple of loose ends in this thread, one - the OP - did he get the second passenger side header, and did it fit better?

The other one, Chris at ECS in post #28 said that he was installing a set for his customer in early October - how did that turn out?

best regards -

mqqn

I guess what pisses me off more than anything, is that you "Claim" you have nothing to do with SSAC, yet you wh*re them out on EVERY ebay thread around. You and a few other members are the contacts for these headers. You are also the guys who move the product for this ebay company. You are also probably the main reason why the headers jumped in price.
You want to "Help" the forum so much, yet you and all your other buddies have yet to become SPONSORS of this forum.

You can not tell me or 95% of the other guys on this forum that you are not either being compensated or given free product in return for peddling their product here.

What pisses me off even more is that this site has allowed this stuff to go on for over a year, yet all the other posts/threads are moderated without any issues.

You are DIRECTLY violating the rules of this forum 100 ways from sunday, yet it continues to go on day after day after day..

You CAN NOT in any way promote or sell the product of a NON SUPPORTING vendor along with links and references to the company on the Corvette Forum.

What i'm saying is, is all it would take is for you to become a supporting vendor, and then you could peddle these headers to your hearts content..

It amazes me how members here can bash the supporting header manufacturers on their price, yet they promote some non supporting ebay junk header company. It just goes to show the loyalty.

Happy Holidays

This is all hogwash. The headers are good, I dont care what anyone says. Maybe its the installer thats the problem, I bought my ebay headers brought em to a muff-shop and they had em on the same day no problems been running strong ever since. This subject is beaten to death its all the pissed off people that paid $1500 vs. the people who got a steal on headers

You are so right, now that you mentioned it, He is in every SSAC thread on these forums.. I remember from doing some research on a set of headers I wanted to buy from another Member "Craig (something)" who caught a titty attack when I asked if they were ebay headers..

To the op, I went with kooks and fitment was amazing. They slipped on like a glove. Good luck with your install and I hope everything works out for you with the SSAC headers.

Side bar:
So if I tell guys on the forum to buy a screw/bolt/retainer at Home Depot or Lowes for 5% the cost of a similar product a Forum Sponsor sells, Im out of line?

Tstar does not work for SSA. He just happened to be the unlucky fok to get someone there to answer an email/phone call that day. He does not take a % of the sales from them either. So lets just stop that rumor now please.

-------

I too had a fitment issue with mine but I bought them just as Version II was swapping over to Version III. Local shop spent a little time and got them in just fine for me.

As to the Ebay seller with these for sale: I'd bet his were Version I or II. So when asked, I tell folks to go to SSA directly to ensure they have the latest version of these headers.

good vibrations,
Rain
