These are two relays I found there. One has the purple wire. Both are same 4 pin relay, and going to change both. Only code is 80 no radio communication.
I belive the other relay is the column lock relay, did you try inserting a wire jumper between red and violet wires and verify that the engine will crank over?
I tried testing it with a multimeter when the ignition cranked. The probe wouldn’t go in far enough to make contact. That’s when I thought changing it would work.
I don't know what you tested with a multimeter when it cranked over. The wire jumper between the red and violet wires will determine if the TDR is at fault, the car cranks over or the car still doesn't crank over, problem with the starter solenoid or starter.
Ok, well hopefully it's the TDR, have you replaced it?
not yet. Still need to get the part.
wow just found it on Amazon. These are really expensive. Was figuring $20-30.

I jumped the purple and red wires on the tdr harness, with the relay out, so it could still be that. The starter is working like it should. The battery and connections are ok. I took out the ignition and will clean it tomorrow. Not sure what to try after that.
If the TDR clicks on each and everytime you turn the key to the start position there is nothing wrong upstream of the TDR. I will ask again if you have replaced the TDR, you state that jumpering the red and purple spun the starter, so it has to be the contacts inside the TDR.
I’m going to get a new relay. There’s used ones on eBay for cheap that claim to have been tested. Might as well clean the ignition too since the car is down anyway. I can get that side put back together and go from there.
Got a used tdr on eBay. Seller said it was checked. Put it in and got the same result. Clicks when I turn the key but nothing else. My guess is the part must be bad. I’ll have to get a new one and see what happens. I assume there’s non oem parts that will work. If the plugs and schematic is the same it must work the same.
Use a clip on test lead to attach to the purple wire at the starter solenoid and attach the other lead to ground this is the sure fire way to determine that 12v is being sent from the TDR.

I bought a brand new tdr and still the same issue. Clicks when I try to start the car but no starter. Tried jumping the purple and red wires and the car started. Cleaned the ignition and charged the battery, not sure what to try next.
The only thing it could be is the TDR socket itself, if the TDR clicks each and every time you turn the key to start, and it starts by jumping the red and violet wires it has to be either the red or violet wire contacts inside the socket.
