My .02
Before stepping up to larger AR Headers to compliment my current blower set-up I ran QTP`S and they made 333rwhp/342rwtq (+22hp/+25tq) out of the box un-tuned with LS6 intake and Vararam, Borla cat-back.
Note the higher tq gain!
The 02 sensors are in near stock locations which seems to allow them to work perfect without tuning (my af was 12.65) and never threw a code the entire time I ran them.
Here in Calif the QTP`s or AR`s may be the better choice since the cats on the LG`s are so far down stream they don`t heat properly and thus have issues passing the strict CA sniffer.

Good luck!

P.S. This is NOT an LG bash, they`re awesome, it`s strictly a CA sniffer related issue.

Why do you want the cut outs?

I run LTs, High flow cats, X-pipe and straight pipes, no mufflers. Granted I am not in CALIF, but at slow accelrations or at cruze the sound is not bad at all.

At WOT, my wife can hear me shift a mile away

I want them because I have never had them and think it would be cool. I might just run the Stock exhaust with my tips and open it up when I have the chance.

Got to admit they sounded good when I heard them, but now with heads and cam when I get on it you can hear the car a long way off so any LEO's in the bushes are in instant search mode.

I can't wait to get my QTP's on with the X-pipe

Just remember, just because many haven`t heard of them doesn`t meant they don`t work, they do!

I must admit, I thought my car sounded better before with the QTP`s, kind of exotic, they just didn`t make a larger "blower friendly" set-up!

Honestly did not know anyone was actively selling a Tri-Y design for the C5.

Not a bad prices as C5 prices go!

Belanger headers are Tri-Y too.
Not sure if they're still around, but they were popular 5+ years ago.

It must be age, I was going to post that Belanger and Bassani were a Tri-Y design as well, but I couldn't remember the name "Belanger"

I knew Bassani's were tri-y but never saw great results from Bassani, compared to other LTs, Kooks, ARs, TPIS, or LGs

I have QTP headers, X pipe and Random Tech cats through TI’s. Sound is just right. I put down just over 400 HP at the wheels and nice flat torque curve. I had my QTP’s coated and never looked back. One of the reasons I chose them is they fit nice and tight in the tunnel without loosing ground clearance

I am going to pick the QTP's up today. I was wondering if I could have these universal 3" cats welded to the x pipe? I wonder if they fit with the cutouts.

The Random Tech cat pipes that come with the QTP's can probably be bought separately if you want to swap in and out.

Teddy - when you get the chance, check out Mike's (morzoff) Z06. He has cutouts.....and they are pretty darn loud.
