Sounds like a winner to me.... If it works you won't be playing with it ever again. (Unless you get bored and want to try and make the GM solution work again.)
If it doesn't then you only have to pay the shipping to send it back. I'd jump at that. The CLB does work on some of the early cars and I hope yours is one of those on which it works........

Ya the website says 2% of the 97 and 98 vets have problems with the CLB. Hopefully im OK. Still curious if I can also get another harness K under the GM 05081 Specialty Policy, just to have on the side in case I fall in that 2%,--- options!

The only way to find out is to go try to negotiate with the local dealer, or file a claim directly with GM. IF you got lots of time, it cannot hurt to try.
Order the ThunderRacing CLB as a backup.
I still have a Harness K kit in my Z06 and it works fine.
Update-- my column locked again with the factory actuator pluged in. I messed with it until the actuator retracted while the car was running I unpluged the actuator --so it is in the retracted/unlocked position. I ordered CLB from Thunder Racing 2day air, its in and perfect. I really did not think it would work. It is a few days now and no problems. Now everyone can say I told u so, anyway thank you everyone for your help.
