Hey Guys,
Ok maybe someone can help me out. I have my car at he mechanics taken care of some small stuff one thing being a new battery. They put the new battery in and all of a sudden when he started the car all the interior lights/dash and outside start blinking very fast??????? the car starts with no problem, Now when you go to set the fob for lock the alarm goes off?? like you hit the panic button..crazy. hit the unlock and it stops setting the alarm off. Now with the car running and everything bliking we turn the headlights on and all the blinking lights stop, but the turn signal lights are lit on the dash and when you go to use them they do not work? Can anyone help piont us in the right direction as we have no idea what is going on. Sorry for the long post

Sounds like the battery is low. You might recheck those new battery connections and put a charger on it before starting it again. Of course, you might have gotten a bad battery too even though its new.
I tought the same thing, but it is acting up when it is running? Just really strange. The old saying of going back to what you did before the problem happened and the only thing was the battery. I going to have them take it out and put the old one back in and see what goes on.
Thanks
I have experienced EXACTLY the same problem after installing a 402 in a buddy's C5. Changed batteries to no avail. It would be great if someone has info on this.
Ok,
cleared all codes and here's what comes up;
B2578
B2583
Something to do with the front turn signals???
Any imput would be of great help!
Thanks again
Did the shop damage any of the lighting circuit wires doing any of the work?
Interesting that you have a short to voltage on both the left and the right light circuits. That suggests the short is somewhere where the two circuits come together. The obvious places that have regular problems are the hazard switch and the turn signal switch.
With those symptoms I'd be suspecting a short in the hazard switch
No
I just had it in to do some regular maintenance, change the oil and i was going to have the steering wheel sensor changed, but the part had not come in yet. I was just going to take it back while the part came in and i told them to put a new battery in.....the old one was giving me trouble. After they changed the battery this problem just seemed to pop up? They are the same mechanics i have been going to for over ten years now so i would think they would have told me if something went wrong. They are as upset as i am with this problem.
Thanks for you help with this!
The BCM monitors the turn signal circuit to determine the status of the turn signal switch. "Magic occurs" to switch functions between the DRLs and the turn signals.
If a voltage is present on the circuit for longer than expected the DTC is set.
That must mean that one of the switches is shorting out and leaving a voltage on the circuit on both left and right. The manual suggests if both DTCs are set it is probably the hazard switch. Give it a good old recycle to see if it "unshorts" the short circuit. Probably not. There are a few How Tos on replacing it if you do a search
It could also be the turn switch. You could try some electronics cleaner squirted into the body of the switch. Normally though that just cleans up a dirty contact. I'd say if its shorting the switch itself is probably toast.
Well it is not the hazzard switch. Still checking and now we are going to look at the turn signal switch. Does anyone else have an idea of what it could be?
Thanks
