I've had this a couple times when it first got cold back in December. Searched forum and found recommendation to disconnect hose near the manifold and send a bunch of intake cleaner (carb cleaner) into the tube to hopefully flood the check valve. Apparently the valves will stick partially open and will cause a check of the AIR system to fail.
I couldn't figure out how these guys got enough carb cleaner in shooting from down low against gravity and a couple of bends, so I took some vacuum hose and wet it with wd40 and stuff it up the AIR hose until it wouldn't go any further, then I sprayed the carb cleaner. Worked. Haven't had another problem with the P1416 code since...
