Default Wheel weights and clearance?

We have a 2004 C5 with the Baer Eradispeed II big rotors front and rear. I installed our OE/GM Magnesium wheels (other then the stock aluminum wheels) and the calipers do not clear the stick-on wheel balancing weights on the rear, close on the front. Can I move the weights further inside the wheel barrel to clear the caliper or can I grind the rear caliper for wheel weight clearance?

Thanks!

I wouild measure how far out(or in) you want the weights and take the wheels to be rebalanced. Tell the person the limits on placement of the weights. Worked for me.

You can definitely put the weights in the center of the wheel.
I have some wheels balanced with just stick on weights on the inside edge, and they are fine.

Need another opinion. . .

Once the wheel weights are relocated the caliper is still pretty close to the barrel. I'm saying the thickness of (2) business cards away. I don't think this should be a problem IMO, but would like to hear from you.

Thanks!

Wheel wts should go where they are needed, not close that area.

I would not think you would have a problem with clearance. Can you spin the rim and hear any scraping? I would give her a short test drive and look inside to see if its scraping then get up to interstate speeds and check again.

I would also think you could move your weight inward an inch or so to gain more clearance but I would also recommend getting them rebalanced in the next month or two and make sure they know were they can place the weights.

I have '99 with c5 Z06 calipers and the same basic question...

Will Baer's two piece Eradispeed set up fit a base '99 coupe with factory N73 Magnesium wheels, and C5 Z06 calipers?

I am concerned about clearance, especially on the rears.

My wheel weights are mounted inboard to clear the calipers.

One tech at Baer said they will fit, no problem...The guys at West Coast Corvettes are split 50/50 and cannot say for sure.

thanks,
