Starting problem...
2001 ZO6, manual trans
This has happend once before today, about two months ago.
The car started fine until I got in it this morning to go to work. I put the key in, press in the clutch, and turn the key. All lights work, but just no start. I try to jump the car, still no luck.
I hold the ignition key to the crank position and press the clutch in/out. I hear a clicking noise from the passenger side BCM. I hold the clutch down and turn the ignition key to the crank position several times, also hearing the clicking noise.
I check the codes, no codes found.
Like I stated, this happened to me several months back, but it started after several repeated attempts to start. This time was a no go.
Please help....

I have a heads/cam install lined up SOON and don't want to mess with until then. I have some work arounds that work for me. Here they are:1. Hold the key over in the CRANK position for an extended period of time.
2. Jog the key in to the crank position Crank-Run-Crank- Run- Crank a bunch of times until it cranks.
3. (this one works every time) I have a 3 foot steel rod in the trunk. Use the steel rod to BANG the starter once or twice. Get back in and she should start.
This all seem hokey but it works for now and will get me by until I pull the starter off and either rebuild it, replace the solenoid or replace it as a whole.
If you can hear the Theft Deterrent Relay (TDR) click as you press and release the clutch, the clutch safety circuit is working. I replaced my TDR and that didn't fix the issue.
The other thing that you need to do is check the connection/s on the solenoid. The PURPLE wire is the power wire from the TDR that causes the solenoid to initiate the starter. MAKE SURE there CLEAN and TIGHT!
As soon as I find the smoking gun for this issue I WILL post it and the pictures to document it.
