Is there a way to read the date manufactured on these batteries or determine if it might be under warranty?
Mine doesn't seem to have made it through the winter on the float charger. The car will start but the battery sounds weak and the charger is now indicating a possible open cell or sulfated battery. I'm pretty sure Murphy is riding in the front seat ready to kill the battery at the point when it's most inconvenient for me.
What year is your car? I'm guessig this isn't the battery that was in the car when you bought it? These AGM batteries were OEM from 01-03, so your battery is at least 5 years old. My AC Delco AGM is going on 7 years (in May) and is still cranking well. Here's what my battery looks like:
There's a number/ letter combo stamped in the battery. I believe Delco is backwards from everybody else. The numbers are the year and the letter will tell the month. Post'em up and we'll figure it out for you.
It's a 2001. The battery looks just like yours so I'm going to assume it's the original. I'm not going to feel bad about replacing it at all, 7yrs isn't bad for a battery.
I don't see any other marks on the battery that could be a date code.
