It totally depends on what you want and how you use your car. Post up again and say something like.

I'm considereing a cam for my Z06. I drive the car daily and drivability to me is more important than a big numbers. I will also be running LT's and stock heads.

Or:

I want to put a big *** nasty cam in my car and make it a PITA to drive as long as it puts down a big dyno number.

You of course have degrees in between.

there are so many choices, enough to make your head spin. one of the best ways is to contact a shop that has cams, like LG, texas speed, vengance and talk to those guys. call around to more than one and ask for specs, make sure to write em down and compare what each place recommends and they all should be around similar specs. of course each guy you talk to will have different opinions on what a big cam is as well. if you can find some local guys with cams that would be great too.

Take a look at the cam/valvetrain information presented at http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/. The stickie section within "Generation III Internal Engine" topics will provide a lot of background information to assist you in understanding the technology of cam design and how it affects your choice. Good luck.

Agree with what others have said. Figure out how you plan to use the car and also how important street manners are to you.

When you change the cam there are a bunch of other things you need/should consider doing. For example, new valve springs to handle the new cam. Most people also change the timing chain, oil pump, and harmonic balancer. Might want to look into some different rocker arms and pushrods also.

Take your time.

You could also talk to some tuners about what you want and see what they recommend.

Consider the AFR cam (224/228 114) then if you ever get heads it will be a match made in heaven.

I run a MS4 239/242 - 649/609 on 110LSA. My car is a daily driver and currently a PITA to drive, my car needs to be tuned. The term "BIG" is relative when it comes to cams. Liveable I think should be a better term to use. Do your research, and after your done, research it again. Be honest with what you want to achieve with your car as well as how you drive it. Then chose a cam, and go one step larger.

I have a 236/244 - 630/630 on a 114 in a 408ci and it's still hard to deal with on the street, even in the stroker.

That's what I did. It's kind of the rule of thumb with cams.
