I just made my own temporary block off plates for the air injection, but plan on buying the '01-'04 air pipe when I replace the intake with an LS6 intake (intake has to come off to change the air pipe). Don't have any hp numbers yet, but with the z06 mufflers, the car sounds MUCH better now. Definitely more pull as well. Haven't tuned it yet (will be doing that myself shortly with hp tuners) so the check engine light is now on for a code p0410-air injection problem. Just waitin for the cat codes to show up. BTW, it appears the price went up. Mine were listed for $549 and now they are $600. They don't come with the required eight bolts for the collectors or the four required clamps (I went with band clamps but will weld it soon).
I'm not sure who sells them, but a search for "block off plates" should find something. My tuner actually took my stock AIR pipes, cut the pipe off the flange and welded the hole on the flange up.
Does anyone know if those OBX headers have any name brand tags or anything on them.
They look VERY similar to the ones that are on my 00 but mine didn't have any type of tag or brand name on them anywhere that I could find?
Also, do the OBX ones of a CARB sticker? If so, where's it at?
Thanks so much!
Donnie

The only tags on them was a nice looking plate welded to one of the primaries on the right header that said obx racing products. There were paper quality control stickers on the rest of the parts with date codes too. No carb e.o. of course, but they do have little resonators that look a lot like high flow cats that bolt directly to the collectors though. BTW, they look exactly like the Dynatech headers in this thread: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1742259

Maxlean,
Thanks so much man!! I'm just trying to figure out what brand these things are that I've got but I'm pretty sure that they don't have any markings on them so it leads me to believe they're probably some off-brand but I'm just trying to figure out what brand that is. lol
Thanks again,
Donnie

I'm sure they are either a copy or perhaps the ones that don't make the cut for LG or Dynatech, or something like that.

Scott,
Thanks so much man!
Do you guys think that there's any way for one of those little metal tags to pop off the headers over time? I just wonder if maybe it broke off?
Thx,
DZ
I'm still waiting for install picts and dyno numbers from 03vettemaniac when he gets done this week to see how they do on the dyno
03vettemaniac can end the poor mans headers debate once and for all well at least the install part of it. next we have to ask him in 5 years how they are holding up

One guy, one install will end the debate?...wishful thinking. Consistency is key, with respect to fitment, quality, etc. Depending on who you spoke with, the other ebay headers (ssa) were either a nightmare, or fit fine. Totally unacceptable. They should bolt right up everytime...no exceptions. With the exception of the usual pissing and moaning unexperienced installers make on this forum, I have yet to hear about Kooks, ARH's, or Dynatech's not bolting up correctly, and being of good quality.
My guess is, this is just another research and development experiment (at the buyers expense) to work the bugs out their product.
Good luck all....hope it works out for you.

OBX is more than likely selling the same SS autochrome generic header.
Their are numerous issues from warped pipes, misalignment, flanges not being straight etc etc
Sometimes you get a bad set and that can be a major pain if their Q/A is lacking when you have your car torn apart and no time to wait on a new shipment to get to your door.
U have any pics? Did you need O2 extensions? Any tips or tricks needed? Thanks!
Didn't need o2 extensions on my '99, but there was BARELY enough wiring to make it. Extensions for the fronts would have been nice. The only real problem other than the fact they are made for '01-'04 (and therefore the issues that come with that) was that the front o2 bungs were clocked in such a position that the o2 sensors hit the drive line cover. Had to cut a 2"-4" hole in the cover for clearance and then ran the o2 wires up through there. Actually turned out better this way. As for flange warpage, the flanges are just as thick as any other header (or the factory manifolds for that matter), 3/8" I think, and were PERFECTLY flat. Like I said before, the particular set I got fit just fine otherwise. Keep in mind that these are only $550. I was expecting the worst for fitment but was pleasantly suprised. Of course, I've been a professional mechanic for over 15 years, so maybe it was just easy for me.

OBX sells the same parts SS autochrome sells. I think they were even in a lawsuit with each other regarding it.
You are comparing the 2nd gen version of SS to OBX. How do we not know that this is the 3rd gen of SS autochrome? They were going to have highflow cats and and x-pipe and what do ya know they have them.
Just another name change on a bad product to fish in a few new suckers.

Wow, pretty strong words. Unless you have personal eperience with these particular headers, then your observations are just anecdotal... It's tiring to here all these neggative people when all they've got to offer is what they've heard somewhere else, nothing on there own. Typical internet forum thing, I guess.
