03' A4 Coupe just rolled 50k miles. Figured it was time for new plugs and wires. Looking for what will work best on a stock motor. No FI or nitrous. When I started shopping around I was amazed at the difference in price on wires. Any suggestions? Thanks.

And if you can get the boots off the plugs without having a stroke, please let me know how you did it. I've tried several boot/wire pullers (that is, the ones that you could actually get onto the boot end in those confined spaces) and none worked. I'd cut the old boots off but the metal shields prevent that. And some people said they pried the boots off by wedging between the boot end and the head, but my (factory) boots are tight up against the head with no room to get anything in there. Good luck.

I take it you don't have the heat shields on your plug wires...
have you tried a pair of need nose pliers to grab the metal boot with? slip pliers between side of boot and pull, worked for me. when you goto reinstall make sure you use dielectric grease.
Thanks for the help . Now to make sure I got enough beer when the parts come in .
i just pulled my plugs last night to switch out to tr6's and using a 5/8" socket along with a swivel, it was cake and i didn't even lose a drop of blood lol
I just replaced the plugs and wires on my '01 at 100,000 miles. I used AC Delco wires and AC Delco Iridium plugs. I changed the gap to the manual's specs @.060. Should I have left them at .040 or what ever they were set at? Is it going to hurt anything? It seems to run fine, but I have not driven it yet, just ran in the garage.

Would have been just as well off to leave them at.040. Hard to say if you damaged the plug,,would depend a lot on how you "adjusted" them. if you pried them apart,,you probably shortened their life span. They will still function for a period of time even if you did. You have to stay away from the center electrode and the end of the ground strap to avoid damage. .040 works VERY well!! Time will tell . If it's running,,no reason to worry right now. IMO they will last like the old fashioned plugs unless you REALLY banged them up!!
I just received my LS2/LS7 spark plug wires from GMPartsHouse (Gene). They are very nice wires, will be replacing MSD's and have a 90 degree boot on the end.
I went with GM Performance Reds and NGK TR55 plugs.
They're working well so far.
I was hoping for some quality time with the Vette but I just about destroyed my knuckles. Not a fun job. I'd say a swivel knuckle for the wrench is essential for the rear plugs.
