Default Check Engine Light help

I recently installed a new T-56 6-speed transmission in my 99 C5 and the new transmission doesnt have the skip shift on it at all. So, when the transmission shop put it in they left the connections to the skip shift disconnected and now i have a check engine light on because the computer is seeing the open circuit for the skip shift. Does anyone know if a skip shift eliminator will be able to shut the light off, or is there any other way to get the light off without disabling the check engine light itself? i really dont want to not have that light working at all but I also dont want to have the light on all the time. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated, thank you

Yes, it will shut the light off. You can test this with a 220 ohm 1/2 watt resistor.
